About the artist: Scott’s award-winning plays have been produced in Italy, Scotland, New York City (Off-Off Broadway), San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego, Alaska, Colorado, North Carolina, Ohio, and West Virginia. Puppet Therapy and Leftovers have been translated into Italian. Leftovers was the winner of the Chameleon Theatre Circle’s New Play Competition (Minnesota), and was published, along with Puppet Therapy and Sueño, by Three Monkeys Press. Additionally, Scott’s monologues have been published in Audition Arsenal for Women in Their 20s and Audition Arsenal for Women in their 30s (both by Smith & Kraus), and in Audition Monologues for Student Actors II (Meriwether). Turtle Shopping won the Silver Stage award in the New Voice Festival (Old Opera House, WV). That play also won Third Place in the Havemeyer Playwright Competition (Connecticut), and was archived by Ohio State University. Fishing the Moon was a semifinalist in the Beverly Hills Theatre Guild Julie Harris Playwright Competition, and Future Sex won Second Place in the Jim Highsmith Playwriting Competition (San Francisco). Fourth & Goal was commissioned by Calaveras Repertory Theatre (California). Scott’s Pushcart-Prize nominated poetry has been widely anthologized. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, and has taken playwriting classes with Edward Albee, Gary Garrison, Jessica Goldberg, Philip Gotanda, John Guare, Tony Kushner, Romulus Linney, Terrence McNally, Herbert Siguenza, and Paula Vogel. Scott’s professional memberships include The Playwrights' Center, The Dramatists Guild of America, and PEN USA.
