About the artist:
David McCaleb has been acting in Bay Area productions since 1973 with companies including Theatreworks!, Menlo Players Guild, Saratoga Drama Group, Sunnyvale Community Players, Alchemy Arts, and Hillbarn. Favorite roles include Nathan in 'Guys and Dolls', Capt. Hook in 'Peter Pan', Callimaco in 'The Mandrake', Adam in 'The Diary of Adam and Eve', Arthur Dent in 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy', Curly in 'Oklahoma', and King Arthur in 'Camelot'. Directing credits include 'Carousel', 'Room Service', 'Crimes of the Heart', 'Driving Miss Daisy', and 'The Restaurant'. He was a founding performer and writer of the weekly radio comedy series, "Doorslam Theatre". David's a graduate of University of the Pacific in Stockton with BA degrees in Drama and Communications where he produced, directed and performed with "The Alien Chamber Players" on KUOP. He received the university's Best Actor award in 1983. David wrote the book for the romantic musical-comedy mystery, "Sherlock!" which was performed by UOP in 1993 during a season featuring alumni written plays. He sang with The Cisco Singers and performed on the "Toys for Tots" train, "Christmas in the Park" in downtown San Jose, and the National Anthem for numerous major league ballgames. Now residing in Gloucester, MA David has performed at Blackburn Performing Arts, Theatre To Go, Gorton's Theatre, and Boston's Fort Point Theatre Channel.
