    The mission of the Peninsula Symphony is to enrich the lives of people in our community with inspiring, innovative, high-quality musical presentations at affordable prices, and to promote music education through engaging programs for children and adults.

    Founded in 1949, the Peninsula Symphony has brought superior symphonic music to the Bay Area and has a tradition of featuring world-class guest artists such as Taylor Eigsti, Jon Nakamatsu, Garrick Ohlsson, Angel Romero and Wesla Whifield.

    When conductor Mitchell Sardou Klein arrived in 1985, the Peninsula Symphony began its development from a grassroots ensemble to a polished ninety-plus-member orchestra of well-trained community musicians, and through Maestro Klein’s artistic and collaborative leadership, the Symphony audience has only continued to grow each season. The Peninsula Symphony regularly performs at San Mateo Performing Arts Center, the Fox Theatre in Redwood City, and the Flint Center in Cupertino.
