    Wiegand Gallery is located at Notre Dame de Namur University, a fully-accredited, independent, Catholic university founded in 1851 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The college has been located in Belmont since 1923.

    The Gallery's mission is to focus attention on the contributions and accomplishments of important artists who are less recognized, as well as to exhibit lesser-known works of established artists. Highly acclaimed artists whose works have been exhibited at Wiegand Gallery include Wayne Thiebaud, Nathan Oliveira, Manuel Neri, Stephanie Sanchez, Sam Hernandez and John Walker.

    Since its opening in 1987, this nonprofit gallery has been dedicated to exhibitions that exemplify a broad range of artistic expression. It is part of the Madison Art Center, a magnificent stone building that was originally built as a carriage house. The exhibition space, with its porthole windows and skylights, is an unusually warm, inviting enviroment in which to experience art.
