Holly French of Palo Alto was a founding member of the Stitchery Guild of the Peninsula in 1966. "It was so long ago, a group of us were taking a class together using burlap and big fat yarn in orange, avocado green and gold. We started the guild, and it's just gone from there. Now we know there's a lot more to life than yarn and burlap, and love to make beautiful things together," French said.
