San Francisco/Peninsula Writers is a branch of the California Writers Club, founded in 1909 by Jack London and friends. The California Writers Club is the nation's oldest professional club for writers and is a statewide non-profit organization now 18 branches strong with more than 1100 members. The organization is dedicated to educating writers of all levels of expertise in the craft of writing and in the marketing of their work. This is achieved through regular meetings, workshops, contests, seminars and conferences. Writers of all disciplines are welcome to join. The San Francisco / Peninsula branch meets on the third Saturday of each monthly (except when noted) at the Belmont Library in Belmont, CA. Each meeting includes a guest speaker, refreshments, readings of member's work, and the opportunity to meet and get to know other writers .
