    Peninsula Youth Ballet (PYB) was founded in 1979 to provide opportunities for serious young dancers to develop their ballet skills and expand their performance experience in a company setting. It is a nonprofit organization that offers a unique opportunity for young dancers and promotes the art of ballet. It prides itself on the diverse cultural and multi-ethnic background of its dancers, and believe that this diversity enhances the dancers’ experience. Each year, PYB presents academic performances, giving thousands of school children the opportunity to see a ballet in a theater atmosphere.

    Peninsula Youth Ballet is comprised of dancers ages five to adult. While many schools offer student recitals, PYB goes one step further and encourage students' participation in a professional performance. The choreography to which its dancers are exposed is professional, and the young dancers are asked to rise to the challenge.
