Alexandra Day is a legendary storyteller who has a knack for surprising juxtapositions She is the creator of the rottweiler named Carl who gently tends to an infant in a series of books that began in 1985 Now comes The Fairy Dogfather

Hector has trouble differentiating the letters D and G Thus when he writes a request for a fairy godfather, the Fairy Dogfather arrives instead, wearing a fedora and smoking a cigar He isn't what Hector had in mind at all He uses big words, and instead of simply granting Hector's wishes, like a regular fairy godmother, he is a rather demanding visitor Hector needs a present for his Mom's birthday right away Can the Fairy Dogfather help grant his wishes?

Ray Allen completed a full tour--thirty five missions--as a Boeing B-17 Navigator in the European theatre during the latter years of WWII He achieved the highest qualification a navigator could attain--Class Three Navigator When Ray shares some nail-biting details of his various missions, he tells it like it all happened earlier in the day!

For his brave service to his country, Ray received the Distinguished Flying Cross, five Air Medals, and three Battle Stars with Area Ribbons This hero had an active role during formation bombing raids on targets over Belgium, Holland, Germany, and Nazi occupied northern France With great success, Ray and his crew crippled Hitler's war machine by putting out of commission factories, oil fields, and oil refineries, which are the Achilles heel of any mechanized army

Ray received Army training as an aircraft mechanic and ever since has taken a keen interest in machinery, playing an active part in maintaining his flying machine A born aviator, Ray has been at the controls of the B-17, B-25, B-26, C-46, C-47, and a civilian operated P-51 He continues putting the sky beneath his wings while piloting his own Cessna Skymaster

If you've ever wondered what the famed Norden Bombsight looks like and how it works, Ray will have one on hand to show you and he can explain how it was put to use on the Flying Fortress You won't want to miss this presentation Come and meet one of the nation's finest

Everything has its own beauty; you simply have to look for it This lovable story by Hans Christian Andersen tells of a homely little bird born in a barnyard who suffers neglect from others around him until, much to his delight (and to the surprise of others), he matures into a beautiful swan, the most beautiful bird of all

The Fox Theatre is proud to present a live children's stage performance of this wonderful story that is beloved around the world This adaptation is a great learning tool, useful in teaching the little ones about the importance of kindness and personal transformation for the better Come with the family and enjoy a great classic come to life!

Where do you go to experiment with science? Does it only take place in a classroom or lab? In reality, science is all around us – even in our own backyards! CuriOdyssey’s newest exhibit, Backyard Science, removes science from the lab and gives it a home in the CuriOdyssey’s gardens Experiment with ambient sound tubes, listen with a giant ear, and test what it's like to have "superhuman" vision! Kids of all ages can experience scientific phenomena through these curiosity-inspiring, hands-on exhibits
Backyard Science helps families explore, play, discover (and even get their hands dirty!) by experimenting with scientific phenomena on CuriOdyssey’s grounds When you play with the exhibits, you'll be able to manipulate water and make it move in topsy-turvy ways; listen with giant ears that enhance the unique sounds of nature; watch how light can be filtered through surprising shapes; understand how erosion takes place, and even simulate “superhuman” vision! Through direct, hands-on experimentation, the new exhibition connects children with the most common (and fascinating) phenomena that can be found in their own backyards
