The Portola Art Gallery presents Westward Ho - Deserts and Canyons of the American West by Julia Munger Seelos of Redwood City. The Portola Art Gallery presents Westward Ho - Deserts and Canyons of the American West by Julia Munger Seelos of Redwood City. Inspired by the dramatic backdrops of the classic movie westerns, Julia dreamed of seeing the American West first hand. In her oil paintings, created on location in the canyons of Arizona, the mountains of Colorado and the deserts of California, she has followed in the footsteps of the great artists that helped open the West such as Albert Bierstadt, Gilbert Munger and Maynard Dixon.

The reception will have Navajo flute music from the canyon as a background.
