The concert features 13-year-old Stephen Waarts, violin soloist. In his first appearance with the Silicon Valley Symphony in 2008, Stephen mesmerized and astounded the audience. One week after that concert, he made his Carnegie Hall debut. Since then, he has appeared with the Kostroma Symphony Orchestra with conductor Pavel Gershtein conducting at Moscow State University for the Moscow Meets Friends Festival. He recently won top prize in the Youth Division of the KDFC Classical Star Search. Stephen Waarts is on his way to becoming one of the great violinists of the world. See and hear history in the making!

At this concert, he will perform the magnificent and fiendishly difficult Brahms Violin Concerto. He will also perform Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and four of Dvorak’s delightful Slavonic Dances. Maestro Michael Paul Gibson will give a mini-conducting lesson and choose three or four children to conduct the orchestra - during the Time for Young Musicians - playing Rossini's Finale from William Tell Overture, an extremely popular and eye-popping experience!
