Coastal Arts League Gallery and Museum presents Mavericks - Everest of the Seas. The many moods of Mavericks -- the world-famous big wave break just off Half Moon Bay -- will be the subject of a unique art exhibit featuring the finest work of a group of local professional photographers who have devoted their lives to capturing the decisive moments of action at the legendary surf spot. Ed Grant, Coastal Arts League member and Mavericks photographer, has assembled the most spectacular images from the cutting-edge photojournalists who risk life and limb to document the wave's intense man-against-the-sea drama and obsessive lifestyle of Maverick's elite riders. Both the shooters and the surfers who challenge the break on its most extreme days will make a rare one-time public appearance. This collection of brilliant images is sure to give you the visual ride of your life and views from the top of the watery world!
Meet the following Maverick’s legends on Thursday, February 11 from 6 – 9 pm at the Coastal Arts League Gallery. Jeff Clark, Ed Grant, Tony Canadas, Fred Pompermayer, Elizabeth Pepin Silva, Don Montgomery, Eric W. Nelson, Doug Acton, Grant Washburn, Ryan Seelbach & Bruce Jenkins.
