Conrad Birdie is drafted into the army. His agent, Albert, plans a farewell performance on the Ed Sullivan Show, which he hopes will bring his company out of debt. Birdie will give away a kiss to a lucky girl from his fan club on national television. The lucky girl is Kim McAfee. Kim's father begins to get excited about the thought of being on the Ed Sullivan Show. Kim's new steady, Hugo, starts to get jealous of the thought of Kim kissing...
