    In a special Up Close evening, writer and performer Brenda Wong Aoki treats story lovers to her monodrama based on a tale from the Kabuki about a boy, a girl and a promise. Simultaneously uplifting and heartbreaking, Ms. Aoki's synthesized style, blending Kyogen and Noh (Japanese traditional theater) with masterful storytelling, will warm hearts and inspire dreams.
