    A unique love triangle between a man, his wife, and a new-found dog lead to hilarity in A.R. Gurney's Sylvia which opens Thursday, Nov. 4 at Cañada College. The play revolves around Greg, a middle-aged, upper-middle-class New Yorker, who finds Sylvia, a dog played by a human. He brings her back to the empty nest he shares with his wife, Kate.     A unique love triangle between a man, his wife, and a new-found dog lead to hilarity in A.R. Gurney's Sylvia which opens Thursday, Nov. 4 at Cañada College. The play revolves around Greg, a middle-aged, upper-middle-class New Yorker, who finds Sylvia, a dog played by a human. He brings her back to the empty nest he shares with his wife, Kate. When Kate gets home, she reacts very negatively to Sylvia and wants her gone. They eventually decide that Sylvia will stay for a few days before they decide whether she can stay longer, but Greg and Sylvia have already bonded. The play revolves around the building tension between Greg, Sylvia and Kate.

    The play was originally staged in New York in 1995 with a cast that included Sarah Jessica Parker, Blythe Danner, and Charles Kimbrough.
