    The Portola Art Gallery presents Light of the Landscape - Watercolors by Steve Curl of Palo Alto, for the month of February. An artist’s reception will be held on February 21, from 1-4pm.     The Portola Art Gallery presents Light of the Landscape - Watercolors by Steve Curl of Palo Alto, for the month of February. An artist’s reception will be held on February 21, from 1-4pm. Colorful and light-filled, Curl paints from direct experience on excursions to the High Sierra’s, the Rockies, Mexico and the bay area. Curl explains that his chosen medium, watercolor, behaves like nature- fresh, spontaneous, and elemental in its simplicity, and this is reflected in his work.

    An award winning and professional artist, Curl also gives back to the community by teaching his craft at the Pacific Art League, and at the International Elderhostel Organization where he instructs on-location painting classes in Mexico. Most noted as the Editorial Cartoonist for the Palo Alto Daily News, Curl brings passion and truth to his art.
